Frequently Asked Questions

Reiki and Nervous System Regulation

What is Reiki and how does it work?
Reiki energy is Source energy. The Reiki practitioner is a conduit, allowing the energy to move through them to the patient. Practitioners are in a meditative state and from that state can intuit physical, emotional, mental and spiritual blockages on the patient. The energy flows from Source, through the practitioner and clears blockages on the patient.

What does receiving Reiki feel like?
Each patient’s Reiki experience is different. Some clients experience a gentle warmth, or buzzing. Some clients experience visuals in their mind’s eye. For those that are particularly sensitive to energy, you might feel a release, gently shake or have visions of ancestors or those who have passed on or spirit guides.

What can Reiki treat?
Reiki can help with all different types of physical, mental, and emotional dis-ease. It can work in conjunction with western medicine to help support cancer recovery, anxiety, depression, sports or work injuries, back/hip alignment, as well as spiritual healing.

What is Nervous System Regulation?
Your body’s nervous system holds onto unprocessed emotions or blockages related to overstimulation, challenging or threatening situations, or trauma. If this energy is not released or processed, it can create “stories” or internal dialogue that we feel to be true, but might not be authentic to our true nature. We encounter these as “triggers”. Learning about nervous system regulation and processing stuck energy releases these negative story loops and allows you to act from an observer mind, instead of reacting to the triggering situation, person or thing.
